Career

May 2022 – Elected Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.

September 2013 – April 2015 Guest Curator, English Heritage Stonehenge Visitor Centre curating Soldiers at Stonehenge exhibition on the First World War open November 2014 to April 2015.

1997 – Present Freelance Historian and Tour Guide, designing and guiding military history tours in France, Belgium, Turkey, Italy, Normandy, North Africa, Canada and the UK.

2004-2010 Lecturer University of Liverpool and University of Lancaster, designing and running undergraduate and continuing education courses on aspects of the First World War.

2003 – 2004 Deputy Head, Museum of Liverpool Life.

1994 – 2003 Curator King’s Regiment Museum, Museum of Liverpool Life.

1990 – 1993 Exhibitions Officer, Royal Engineers Museum.

1987 – 1990 Assistant Curator, Royal Engineers Museum.

Honorary Research Fellow in War Studies, University of Birmingham.

Member British Commission for Military History.
