During more than thirty years of designing and guiding battlefield tours, I’ve taken many thousands of travellers to remarkable locations in Britain, France, Belgium, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, Libya, Canada and the USA.

Many of my tours are in partnership with The Cultural Experience, an established ATOL protected tour operator who deliberately keep numbers travelling on their tours small. I also guide bespoke tours and school tours (see below).

Bespoke Tours

Bespoke Tour for Bear Grylls, 2018
Increasingly popular are bespoke tours for groups or families. Travellers in recent years have also included the adventurer Bear Grylls, an Academy Award winning scriptwriter, a Turner Prize winning artist, the heritage organisation 14-18 NOW and Boodles Private Members’ Club. Long experience in researching soldiers service greatly enhances the experience.

A bespoke tour, visiting a family grave on the Western Front.
Schools Tours
I also guide school groups with Battlefield & History Tours, including visits to the First World War battlefields with St. Mary’s School, Ascot and the D-Day landing sites with The American School in London annually for the past 16 years.

Visiting the German Cemetery at La Cambe, Normandy.

Are you intending to run any tours to the Western Desert battlefields in 2020?
Sadly I’m not and I’m not aware of tours at present to the Western Desert of Egypt. Obviously Libya has been inaccessible for a number of years.
Are there any plans for a tour of the Western Desert battlefield in 2022 please ?
Alas there are no plans at present for this destination, much as I would love to return.
Many thanks for your reply Mr Jones. I’m planning on visiting El Alamein for the 80th Anniversary in that year and am determined to do so one way or another. Hopefully there will be some tour operators still in business by then !! My very best wishes to you, and thanks again.

I was booked to go to Halfaya Sollum where my father is buried at this time last year but a medical emergency intervened. I want to do this as soon as I can so would appreciate advice on any tours likely to go.
I’m sorry to hear that Rod. I am not aware of any tours unfortunately but suggest that you contact The Cultural Experience https://www.theculturalexperience.com/contact.php
