Bespoke Tours

Bespoke Tour for Bear Grylls, 2018

Increasingly popular are bespoke tours for groups or families. Travellers in recent years have also included the adventurer Bear Grylls, an Academy Award winning scriptwriter, a Turner Prize winning artist, the heritage organisation 14-18 NOW and Boodles Private Members’ Club. Long experience in researching soldiers service greatly enhances the experience.

Simon Jones Bespoke Battlefield Tour

A bespoke tour, visiting a family grave on the Western Front.

An unsolicited testimonial for a Western Front tour guided for Engineers Australia in 2022:

Simon Jones was our guide for a 4-day tour of ANZAC sites on the western front at the end of April 2022, which focused on tunnelling activities of Australians and New Zealanders during WW1. It was an annual Regional Tour for our UK Chapter of Engineers Australia and everyone in the group had an amazing experience. Simon worked closely with the UK Chapter organiser to select a set of varied stops, stories to present and activities. He was extremely helpful in recommending hotels and lunch stops and his professional network opened the tour group up to opportunities that we wouldn’t have had without him onboard. He provided detailed itineraries and route maps for the tour and helpful hints for logistics, which kept us all on track during our packed agenda. His knowledge and storytelling brought all the events he presented to life and the human experience to the fore. He also managed to help one attendee locate a family connection to the western front during the tour. We would thoroughly recommend Simon as a tour guide. He truly made our regional tour unforgettable.
